Gameplay
The two playable protagonists are Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Lucia is a recently released convict from Leonida Penitentiary. Jason is a former Army soldier working for drug runners in the Florida Keys. They are a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde.
GTA VI is set in the state of Leonida, based on Florida. The primary city is Vice City (Miami-inspired). Other confirmed regions include Leonida Keys, Grassrivers (Everglades), Port Gellhorn, Hamlet, and Kelly County.
Yes. Rockstar has confirmed that GTA Online will return with GTA VI, supporting up to 32 players simultaneously — double the 16-player limit of GTA V's current-gen version. The online component will launch after the single-player story.
Yes. Players can switch between Lucia and Jason seamlessly during gameplay. The system is similar to GTA V's character switching but with deeper narrative integration, as the two are a romantic couple.
Graphics & Performance
Rockstar confirmed the game runs at a locked 30 FPS in Fidelity mode on PS5. Performance mode targeting 60 FPS is expected. The game is captured at 4K in Fidelity mode. Performance RT mode (60 FPS with ray tracing) is also anticipated.
